Quick Tip for Hot Glue Gun Safety

I know I'm not the only one who's ever burned herself when using a hot glue gun!

Remember to avoid direct contact with the glue and the metal tip of the gun.  You can protect your work surface with an inexpensive silicone mat.

Any glue that gets on the mat will come right off when cooled.  Also, consider using fingertip protectors like these.

Mats and protectors can be purchased at hobby and craft stores as well as WalMart and Amazon.

Happy Crafting!

Quick Tip Tuesday - Embrace Your Mistakes!

When I first started crafting, I thought every project had to be perfect. I’d get frustrated over smudged ink, crooked cuts, or glue that somehow ended up everywhere but where it was supposed to. But over time, I realized something important: mistakes aren’t failures—they’re part of the process. Every misstep taught me something new and helped me grow as a crafter. In fact, some of my “oops” moments turned into happy accidents that made my projects even better.

For example, Smudged Ink = Vintage Look  If you accidentally smudge the edge of a stamped image—instead of tossing the card, you can lean into it and distress the edges on purpose. Then it has a rustic, vintage vibe!

I made a mistake or two on this card, but I gave it to the recipient anyway.  Consider it handmade charm.

Today's Tip - Embrace your mistakes.  Crafting is about joy, not perfection.

Quick Tip Tuesday - Attend an online camp

If you are interested in sublimation, I highly recommend Sublimation and Beyond Camp sponsored by two great crafters, the best in the business, Angie Holden, and Cori George.

This is a free camp that you can register for through this link.  This is not a paid promotion. I receive nothing if you choose to join, but you receive excellent instruction in sublimating for yourself, your friends, or as a business.  Have fun!

Quick Tip Tuesday - Find Your People

I just returned from a craft retreat, and it was awesome.  It's great to have dedicated time to work on projects as well as other people to craft along with.  This was an in-person event, but there are also online Facebook groups, websites, craft summits, and memberships available.

Don’t craft alone—find your people! Joining a community of like-minded crafters can spark new ideas, offer helpful feedback, and keep you inspired. Whether it’s a local meetup or an online group, sharing your passion makes creating even more rewarding.
